Sometimes we’re so focused on where we’re going that we forget how far we’ve actually come.
Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking at the @promisesseminar, where I shared something really personal.
I introduced everyone to Little Raquel.
The little girl from Union City, CA who grew up in a crowded house, had big dreams, and no idea what life had in store for her.
If I could go back, I’d tell her that she’s going to do things she never imagined and experience opportunities she never thought possible. But I’d also tell her that life won’t always be easy. There will be heartbreak, failures, loss, and some really hard seasons.
And through it all, she’ll learn that success is about so much more than what she accomplishes.
But you know what? Sometimes I still need to hear those same words today.
We’re so busy chasing what’s next that we forget to appreciate how far we’ve come and everything it took to get here.
Maybe the things we’d tell our younger selves are exactly what we need to hear today.
And if I could give Little Raquel a hug, I’d tell her, “You’re going to be okay. Have courage, have faith, and keep showing up.”
I’ve spoken on a lot of stages. But today, I was nervous…
Not because I wasn’t prepared, but because this message was personal.
No business strategies. No talk about scaling. Just a message about faith, purpose, and having the courage to use our gifts to make an impact.
Because lately, I’ve been asking myself…
What if the life we’re working so hard to build is the very life we’re too busy to enjoy?
I believe we’re meant to dream big and pursue our purpose, but not at the expense of the moments that matter most.
So here’s my reminder to myself and maybe to you, too:
Keep playing bigger. Keep showing up. Just don’t forget to make time for what matters. 🚀

I blinked… and can’t believe my first born is 21!
21 years ago, you made me a mom, and I had no idea how much love, joy, and purpose one little boy could bring into our lives.
From that little boy with big dreams to the incredible young man you are today, what a journey it’s been!
@brycequinet as proud as we are of everything you’ve accomplished, we’re even prouder of WHO you are.
The amazing big brother you are to Brexton. Your discipline, independence, and work ethic inspires us all. The way you balance your academics, basketball, and responsibilities while building a life so far from home. And most importantly, your thoughtful heart and the way you show up for the people you love.
Those are the things that make you special, and I hope you never lose them.
And one of my favorite things? Even living so many states away, you still make time to call us every single day. You probably don’t realize it, but seeing your name pop up on my phone is one of the best parts of my day.
As you turn 21, celebrate it all! Embrace every experience, make incredible memories, enjoy every victory, and keep being YOU.
There’s so much life ahead of you. So many adventures, opportunities, and dreams still waiting for you. I can’t wait to see where life takes you.

What if it turns out better than you imagined?
After more than 20 years in business, I’d be lying if I told you I don’t still get scared.
I do.
I have fears.
I second-guess myself. I get uncomfortable.
But there’s also a part of me that keeps asking…
What if?
What if this is exactly what I’ve been wanting?
What if the uncomfortable part is actually pulling me into my next chapter?
I’m entering an era where I’m willing to explore new things.
Say yes to things that scare me.
Build things I’ve never built before.
And give myself permission to want something different.
Because I know my kids are watching.
I can’t keep telling them to play bigger, bet on themselves, and go after what they really want if I’m not willing to do the same.
Maybe courage isn’t about not being scared.
Maybe it’s being scared and going anyway.
Because I’d rather find out what’s on the other side than look back one day and wonder what would’ve happened if I had gone for it.
So instead of asking…
What if it doesn’t work?
I’m asking:
What if it turns out even better than I imagined?
Do it anyways my friend! 🚀
You never regret showing up for the people who matter.
48 hours in Chicago celebrating my friend and partner @vickysilvano1 as she made history in being the first Filipina to be the Chicago Association of Realtors president. We are so grateful for your leadership in this industry.
But this trip was really about showing up.
Showing up for people who have shown up for you.
Celebrating the people you love when they win.
Making time for relationships that have lasted through different seasons.
And pouring into people whenever you have the opportunity.
There will always be another meeting, another goal, another thing to chase.
But some of the best parts of this journey are relationships and the people you meet along the way.
I’m learning that saying yes to every opportunity isn’t the same as growing it might be the opposite.
As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to confuse capacity with alignment.
Just because you can build it, lead it, fix it or make it work doesn’t mean it deserves your time.
Every yes costs something:
time, energy, focus, presence or freedom.
So in this season, I’m asking a better question:
If I say yes to this, what am I saying no to?
Not everything good belongs in this season. 🤍
Doing this #80trend brought me back to the aqua net days and it also made me think about what I would say to my younger self.
Dear Raquel,
You don’t need everyone to like you.
This ’80s trend took me back to my school years.
Watching Saved by the Bell and wanting that friend group. Being involved in student government and sports, having different circles of friends, and still wondering where I fit.
I thought being popular meant you’d always be invited.
I wanted friendships that felt real, and I had big dreams I was still figuring out.
Here’s what I’d tell that girl:
Keep putting yourself in rooms. Meet different people. Let them get to know the real you, including how ambitious you are.
You can be a good friend without trying to be everyone’s favorite.
Go after the life you want, and make time for the people you love. There’s room for both. 🤍
Looking back at August, I realized how many of these moments almost didn’t happen because I almost talked myself out of them.
I couldn’t even get on a flight home at one point.
I questioned the timing.
I overthought more than I probably needed to.
But somewhere along the way, I stopped trying to have it all figured out and just went for it.
Funny enough, those ended up being some of the best parts of the month.
I think we spend so much time waiting to feel ready or to have clarity when sometimes you just need to put yourself in the room and see what happens.
August was a good reminder of that.
Go. Do the thing. Adjust if you need to.
Get in the room. Take on the opportunity.
You never know what can come from it.
